Life of 'Pie

The animals may be smaller, but I'm still all at sea.

Mark This Day

I mark this day with a white stone. It is a historic day. A day to remember and commemorate, a day which, to judge from the long days which came before might never have come.

On this day, despite earlier struggles that did not bode well, Pumpkinpie ate breakfast and got into her winter gear without being asked more than twice to perform any one step, and even did much of it unasked.

Praise song for the day, indeed.

Obama asked better of us all. Pumpkinpie, clearly is a believer in CHANGE.

In light of the chorus of "no's" that greeted me after nursery school, that indeed is a wondrous miracle....

Oh, I don't expect it to last... Just celebrating the say that was, at least until she fully melted into HYSTERIA at bedtime!

It takes so much physical effort to get the babies ready. Carry, lift, change, carry again.

The preschoolers, though - that takes so much mental energy. Put on your socks. Did you put on your socks? Put on your socks. Good. Get your shoes. Get your shoooooooooes. . . .

That is amazing. I still get KayTar ready and BubTar takes PLENTY of verbal prodding.

Oh god, I'm so jealous. Our mornings are a total shambles that usually ends with yelling. What do you do with a kid who refuses to get dressed at all, then has a wailing top volume meltdown when breakfast is finished and then won't go out to the car .... and and and. I'm exhausted and drained before I even get to work, and we're all grumpy.

Can you send a little of your vibe my way? Heellllllllpppp.

Isn't it amazing how something like that can set the tone for your whole day? My tone isn't sounding as good as yours today.

Don't those days have a way of making you feel completely competent as a parent?

They're screwing with us. That's what I think. Trying to break down our defenses. LOL
