Kittenpie and the Funky Bunch
So I mentioned yesterday that I had been out with some terrific ladies last night but frankly, I was a bit hung over and didn't go into the depth or gushing that I should have, so I thought I'd push off some other posts another day and tell you all about how fabbity-fab-fab they are.
The first two faces I saw when I walked in were Something Blue and Sunshine Scribe, so I felt right at home immediately, which helps me over the shy bit. They are both so warm and welcoming and sweet and have nice things to say and may I add, just gorgeous to boot. How does hair get that good? Seriously? Blue had cute bangs that would make me look like a six-year-old but looked smashing framing her lovely eyes, and Sunshine has hair that looks like it takes forever, but probably just happens. Sigh. And Sunshine made me the first drink of the evening. Love these two to bits.
HBM and Tania (for whom I can't find a link! Bah.) were there, the great hostesses, with HBM sporting totally unpractical shoes and somehow fully pulling off the very tricky tunic and skinny-jeans combo that would be so deadly on most people. And she wasn't alone. The very lovely and funny Motherbumper was there in wrap dress and jeans, as was my darling ScarbieDoll, all looking great. Did I say fab yet? I talked with Scarbie about a book idea I've been saving for her, which was fun, and we are setting up a Riverdale Farm date tomorrow aft, presuming Pumpkinpie's new fever abates. (grrr, why is this always the timing?!)
MetroMama came out to play too, and BubandPie once again drove in all the way from London (now that's dedication to getting your drink on!). It's so fun to see these friendly, warm, smart women again. And we even had some new faces - CrazyMumma, who is so cool and who I talked with for ages (sorry honey, I'm such a chatterbox!); Lisa, who joins me in the mission to abolish the images of our respective professions by being cute as a button and twice as nice; and a lady who hadn't even started her own blog yet, but did just today - go, Mamalooper, go!
As Sunshine said today (she always says it best), we are so damn lucky to have such a fine and funky bunch of ladies right here in our own backyard. Love to you all.

Oh no poor mummy.
Oh Kittenpie you are downright gorgeous in your secretive, mysterious way. Librarian by day, Kitten by night!
You totally caught me. I do those bangs to look younger! Olay twice a day just doesn't cut it anymore.
Hope sweet Pumpkinpie is feeling all right for your next adventure.
We are lucky. Hope you guys can make it today!
Very cool...I hope to make one of these get-togethers very soon. :)
I love that despite making you the worst G&T ever you were still loving it ... and you complimented my hair! He he
